Meet Our Pastor

Mel Himes Jr & his wife Arleen

Mel has been married to Arleen for 36 years & has 4 grown children and 9 precious grandchildren. Mel and his family have resided in Volusia County since 1974. He enjoys, bass fishing, water sports, golf & "riding his tractor".

Mel was licensed into ministry at the age of 15 by Central Baptist Church in Mobile, AL. While in Mobile he attended William Carey College, served various churches as Youth Director in Hattiesburg, MS and Mobile & also worked with the Billy Graham Ministries. He has been ordained into ministry by the Deltona Baptist Church and serves in places of ministry.

He is a member of the Seminole Baptist Association, Florida Baptist State Board of Missions & the President of Friends (Foster Care Organization).

 Mel owns an independant insurance agency and has been in the insurance business since 1971. His agency specializes in insuring Religious Organizations, Child Care Organizations & Social Services throughout the US.
